Is published in Russia by the Publishing Center of the Institute of Law and Public Policy since 1993. Until 2003 was titled “Constitutional Law: East European Review” and contained translated articles of the journal “East European Constitutional Review”. Nowadays “Comparative Constitutional Review” is a scientific political and legal journal which contains publications devoted to comparative and country research in the fields of constitutional law (constitutional foundations of municipal, administrative, criminal, civil, tax law and other branches of law) and political science, and partly – to the problems of theory and history of state and law, philosophy and sociology. Among regular authors and readers of the journal are leading Russian and foreign political scientists, specialists in the fields of constitutional, municipal and Also should be marked out judges of constitutional courts and representatives of other state and municipal bodies, well-known politicians, human rights defenders and so on, who act both as authors and readers of the journal.
During 15 years the journal has proven itself to be an academic edition which offers deep multi-faceted articles and combines classic approach to scientific materials with following to the actual problems and new trends. The journal is actively used by lecturers of universities, students, graduate students and researchers in the fields of law and political science. The main criterion while selecting articles traditionally is the scientific level of the work combined with the quality of presenting the material which provides ample and equal opportunities to young and expert authors from every part of Russia and foreign countries. Size, type and level of the published materials always attracted experienced authors, including doctoral candidates.
On the pages of the journal are regularly presented problematic criticisms of the most interest books and reviews of the publications that recently have come out in Russia and abroad and that are worth taking place in the collection of specialists. The published research highlight situation not only in Russia, but also in the countries of CIS, European countries, the USA, Canada, Latin America, Japan, China and many others.
The journal “International Journal of Constitutional Law” (I•CON) published by the Oxford University Press and New York University School of Law is our official partner since 2006. Every issue of our journal contains translations of the most interesting materials prepared by the leading American and European specialists in the field of constitutional and international law that are published in I•CON.
The Higher Attestative Commission of the Russian Ministry of Education has put the journal into the “List of the leading reviewed scientific journals and editions where fundamental scientific results of the doctoral (candidate’s) theses should be published”.
